Syed Faruque Ahmed, Chairman, aamra companies, along with other senior officials recently attended a workshop in Cyprus arranged by Thales Group. The two day’s workshop on Thales patented Hardware Security Module (HSM) started on October 7, 2012. Sharful Alam, Chief Operating Officer of Aamra Technologies Limited commented “So far, in Bangladesh, we have been concentrating on the payment module of Thales HSM mostly used by banks for online secured transaction and data security. With the rapid capacity growth and usage of internet in Bangladesh, cyber security in general is becoming a big concern also. As a result, we have introduced general purpose HSM for any corporate that has large data transaction and/or is concerned about data security. By implementing General HSM, corporate houses will be protected from data theft and intrusions”

About Thales HSM

Hardware security modules (HSMs) from Thales e-Security provide a hardened, tamper-resistant environment for performing secure cryptographic processing, key protection, and key management. With these devices companies can deploy high assurance security solutions that satisfy widely established and emerging standards of due care for cryptographic systems and practices—while also maintaining high levels of operational efficiency. HSMs can be used with a wide variety of commercial software products and in-house or custom developed software systems. For virtually any system that employs cryptography in the form of encryption and digital signatures, a Thales HSM will enable to overcome the security vulnerabilities and performance challenges typically associated with software-only cryptography. With HSMs from Thales, companies can buy only the capacity they need and can scale the solution easily as and when requirements evolve.
